Authorization Flow
- Navigate to the Assignments page of the Project
- Click the Jira button at the top right and a Jira Settings dialog will pop up.
- On the Jira Settings dialog, click the Authorize Jira button.
- Follow the authentication flow of Jira and accept the confirmation screen. If you have multiple Jira sites in your account, you need to select a site on the dropdown on this page.
- After accepting the confirmation screen, you will get redirected to the Assignments page of the Project and the Jira Settings dialog will display the site that you authorized.
- Proceed to the Jira Settings guide below for a step-by-step guide to configure Jira integration.
Jira Settings
- Click the Jira Site that you want to integrate.
- Select the Jira Project that you want to integrate.
- Select the Issue Type that you want to use when an issue is created by clicking the ⋮ button. Task is selected by default if it is detected.
- You can set the Start Date and Due Date field if the Issue Type support those fields. If not, you can configure them in Jira.
- Description, Reporter, and Assignee fields are built-in fields of an Issue Type. If these are not detected, you have to choose another Issue Type or create a custom Issue Type to support them. Consult Jira documentation for more information about Issue Types and Custom Fields and how to create or configure them.
- Click the Next button after mapping the fields.
- Map Jira users with DYNO Mapper users by clicking the ⋮ button. DYNO Mapper uses this mapping to set the Reporter and Assignee fields of an issue.
- Click the Save Settings button once you are satisfied with the settings.
Updating Jira Settings
You can update the Project, Issue Type and fields mapping, and Users mapping after the initial setup. Click the Jira button again on the Assignments page to open the Jira Settings dialog. The fields are similar to when you first set up the settings. You can also authorize more Jira sites by clicking Authorize Jira button again.
